Demographic detail

Very little difference was found between the way full-time and part-time faculty answered the 6 questions that employed Likert scales (shown below as "Survey Results"):

  • 86 self-identified as full-time (57% of full-time appointments at SAIC)
  • 100 self-identified as part-time (17% of part-time appointments at SAIC)
  • 12 self-identified as having "other" appointments (adjuncts, etc.)

The distribution of respondents across SAIC's 23 academic departments approximated a normal distribution, showing very little scope for departmental bias.
