Information Literacy at SAIC

What is Information Literacy?

Information Literacy is defined by the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AACU) as "The ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively and responsibly use and share that information for the problem at hand."

The Flaxman Library uses the Association of College & Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education as a guide for our library instruction program. This guide offers tips for incorporating library materials and information literacy ideas into your course and its assignments.
