OBJECT COLLECTION

The TRC’s object collection contains over 600 objects all of which are textiles or textile process tools. Nearly all of the objects within the collection have been donated by faculty, students, alumni, and friends of the school.

Click here to access the SAIC Digital Collection’s page for the Textile Resource Center Object Collection.* You can browse and search available textiles using that site, and then plan your visit to see them in-person!
*Please note, the SAIC Digital Collections require an active SAIC login.

BOOK COLLECTION

The TRC’s book collection contains around 2,000 books pertaining to a wide range of textile techniques. Books are organized within the collection by primary category; some of these categories include: general textiles, weaving, critical theory, dye, embroidery, etc.

The TRC’s books serve as a non-circulating reference collection that you are welcome to take photos, scans, and notes from during a visit. Use the following steps to search the collection online:

1. Go to the library's catalog, enter your search terms, and click the magnifying glass

2. Expand the location filter on the left, and choose 1003 Sharp: Textile Resource Center - USE ON SITE ONLY
