INTRODUCTION

The Low-Res Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series resource guides contain upcoming speakers' biographies, articles, video and audio content, related publications in the Flaxman Library, and additional online resources. These guides may be used in preparation for the public lecture, studio visits, and post-lecture discussion.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Installation image of Common WorkBased between Dublin and New York, Elaine has a Ph.D from Temple University ( Film & Media Department) and an MA in Visual Arts Practices (IADT). She was previously a fellow at the Whitney Independent Study Program, New York. She has had many solo shows including Common Work (Dublin), borderline (Dublin), Women in Boxes (NY), La Diritta Via (Rome), Ruam (Dublin) and Raumplan (Limerick). She has been in group shows at The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery (Dublin), Douglas Hyde Gallery (Dublin), Elizabeth Foundation (NY) the Shelly and Donald Rubin Foundation (NY) and ISCP (NY) and most recently Slought (Philadelphia). She won several prizes including the 8th Arte Laguna prize for sculpture, Venice, Italy, the Combat art prize and the T.I.N.A art prize, Milan. She was awarded residencies at ISCP, Art OMI, Soma Mexico and Arctic Circle. Her work is in various collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rosenbach Museum and Library (Philadelphia), the National Collection of Ireland and the Rubin Foundation.
