The Low-Res Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series resource guides contain upcoming speakers' biographies, articles, video and audio content, related publications in the Flaxman Library, and additional online resources. These guides are presented to students in May 2025, prior to the residency, and may be used in preparation for the public lecture, studio visits, and post-lecture discussion.

Chicago’s inaugural Poet Laureate, interdisciplinary artist avery r. young [him, him, his] is an inaugural Walder’s Foundation Platform awardee, and recipient of the New Leaders of of Chicago. A co-director of The Floating Museum, his poetry, performance and composition have been featured and/or commissioned in several journals, exhibitions and operas. He is the composer and librettist for a new commissioned work from The Lyrics Opera of Chicago titled safronia.
