Remote Learning with Online Library Resources

How to Request Unavailable Resources (Interlibrary Loan)

  1. Go to the Library homepage at www.saic.edu/library
  2. Type the title of the item you are seeking into the search box and click Go
  3. If you are off campus sign in using your ARTIC username and password
  4. If you do not see your item, it may not be available in the updated library search
  5. First, make sure it's not available through an alternate source:
-If it is a book > first repeat your search in the IShare Catalog by clicking ALL I-SHARE LIBRARIES in the top navigation bar
-If it is an article > first repeat your search in Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/) to see if it is openly available online
-If it is something else > proceed to step 6
  6. If you are still unable to find the item, return to the the updated library search and click '...' in the top navigation bar to expand the menu
  7. Click Request an Article
*No matter what type of item you are requesting, this will take you to the Interlibrary Loan Request Form for any item (so you can still click it even if you are not seeking an article)
  8. Fill out all information marked with a red star and submit the form
